Before we start writing about our new travel tales we thought it will be a good idea to reflect on the travelling and places we have already been in the last 5 years. I have compiled videos from few of our trips and here are some of the pre trip memories.
Turkey – Istanbul
We visited Istanbul in 2010 on Molly’s big 30th birthday. It was our first trip together outside UK. Turkey is a beautiful city with a great cultural mix. The highlight of the trip was the helicopter ride over Istanbul. That was Molly’s big surprise on turning big 30. Other memories include the trip to princess islands, riding tandem bike and Hagia Sophia.
Spain – Road Trip 1
A 1000 km road trip from south of Spain to East covering 10 cities in 10 days. We landed in Malaga, rented a car and traveled the following cities: Malaga, Seville, Cordoba, Granada, Alicante, Valencia, Barcelona and Zaragoza.
Spain – Road Trip 2
This was Tomatina Special trip. We were keen in attending the Tomatina festival and we made it happen in this trip. Molly and I traveled with our friends to Spain and covered Madrid, Requena, Bunol, Alicante and Benidorm.
Thailand – Bangkok & Puket
Bangkok was a surprise, even by our standards. We booked our tickets from London to Bangkok 4 hours before the flight departure for a 6 day trip. When we landed in Bangkok we went to a internet cafe to book accommodation. We spent 3.5 days in Bangkok and 2.5 days in Puket. This trip was an eye opener for me (Monty). After living in India I did not realize how different other parts of Asia can be. Most memorable events were the visit to China Town, overnight train journey from Bangkok to Surat Thani, motor bike ride in Puket, the night life and tuk tuk.
Germany – Berlin
We visited Berlin in 2012 where Monty participated in the 39th Berlin Inline Skating Marathon.
Italy – Florence
Another wonderful long weekend trip.
France – Paris
We drove to Paris from London and met our friends Girish & Prachi. What an amazing weekend and I still remember the big mean at Hard Rock Cafe Paris and the trip to the Effil Tower.
Cyprus
We been to Cyprus to attend a attend close family member’s wedding.
Belgium – Brussels
This was a crazy day trip from London which lasted 25 hours driving in our old no more Prius.
Netherlands – Amsterdam Orange Festival
This was a trip in spring of 2013 to witness the Orange Festival and the beautiful Tulips.
Scotland
On my 30th birthday we were driving to Isle of Sky when due to road closures we have to take a d tour and stay in Fort Williams. Looking for a decent restaurant was challenging. My prius was perfect in sub 0 temperatures and I loved the beauty in the cold. Sunny weather with no rain or snow.
Northern Ireland
The best thing I remember about this trip is that we paid £14 return per person for our flights from East Midlands to Belfast.
India – 2010
We been to Taj Mahal, New Delhi, Kashmir.
There are many more small trips within UK. UK is beautiful,
